Export web quotes to Markdown in one minute.
The goal is not to archive the whole web page. It is to leave a reading session with two useful passages, their original source, and a file that can move into your existing work.
Seconds 0-15: open the article view
On a public news story, blog post, essay, or Medium-like page, click the FocusReader toolbar icon. The extension captures the current page after that user action and runs the article through a vendored copy of Mozilla Readability.
Choose light, dark, or beige, then adjust Georgia or Inter, font size, and line height if the article will take longer to read.
Seconds 15-40: save two exact passages
Select the first passage on the original page, right-click, and choose Save to FocusReader. Repeat for a second passage. Each record includes the selected wording, page title, URL, domain, timestamp, and optional category.
Two carefully chosen quotes are more useful than twenty undifferentiated highlights. The constraint forces a quick decision about what the article contributes to the work.
Seconds 40-60: export Markdown
Open the FocusReader popup, scan the source details, and select Export Markdown. Chrome downloads a clean file containing the saved quotes and context. That file can be opened as plain text or moved into a Markdown-compatible editor or archive.
The timing is a workflow target, not a promise that every article can be fully read in one minute. The one-minute loop covers capture and export once you know which passages matter.
Finish with a source check
Before publishing or relying on the material, use the saved URL to inspect the original paragraph again. Confirm that the quote is complete, the context has not changed its meaning, and the source is appropriate for the claim you are making.
